As part of our Leadership Program, our adolescents formed a Rotary Interact (youth) Club in 2020, in response to the food challenges faced by so many in our community during the COVID pandemic.
In addition to their initial project of distributing food to needy families, some of their projects include:
- litter clean-up days
- tree-planting.
- rescuing abandoned dogs and cats, providing them with vaccinations and sterilization, and ultimately a loving forever family. This project has resulted in the rescue of over 120 animals
- assisting in spay/neuter clinics
- installing fuel-efficient stoves in families' homes to eliminate the practice of cooking over an open fire
